
Mytona is a global mobile game publisher based in New Zealand. Its Seekers Notes title, a hidden object game, has a strong focus on delivering high-quality visuals, engaging gameplay, and a seamless user experience. As a result, it’s built a loyal audience, particularly among women. As Seekers Notes scaled, the publisher looked to ensure that ad monetization complemented the overall player experience.
Since 2019, Mytona has relied on Unity’s Ad Quality solution to gain visibility into the ads running in their games. Using Ad Quality’s Analysis page, Creatives page, churn metrics, and Raw Data API, Mytona monitored the ads in Seekers Notes and protected the player experience from disruptive and inappropriate ads that might cause players to churn.
For Mytona, player experience is a top priority, especially for their Seekers Notes title. With a target audience that places a high value on aesthetics and quality content, inappropriate ads could both alienate these players and harm Mytona’s brand reputation.
In order to maintain its high standards for player experience while monetizing effectively, Mytona needed a data-driven solution that would provide transparency, efficiency, and control - turning to Ad Quality.
Ad Quality tools allowed Mytona to monitor the user journey and create a more player-focused ad strategy. The Creatives page enabled the publisher to see exactly which ads were being shown in Seekers Notes, helping the team respond quickly to player feedback and report problematic ads.
In conjunction, the Analysis page and Raw Data API functionality offered Mytona a way to track performance and identify unusual behavior or content policy violations. Building internal dashboards using Ad Quality’s Raw Data API, Mytona streamlined its ad monitoring processes, allowing the team to act quickly when needed. This was particularly effective when used hand-in-hand with Ad Quality’s rules and notifications, tailored to track and report ads with mature ratings and alert the Mytona team to violations.
When implementing Ad Quality, the Unity team worked closely with Mytona to ensure a smooth onboarding process and offer proven best practices.
The Unity team provided ongoing support by answering operational questions during set-up and onward, assisting with tracking support tickets, managing reported ads, and including the publisher in beta testing of new pages and features. Monthly feedback consultations were also arranged to ensure that Mytona was meeting its goals and maximizing the effectiveness of the solution.
With Unity’s Ad Quality solution, Mytona has been able to better monitor the player and report problematic ads, improving the player experience and contributing to reduced player complaints.
Ad Quality has also allowed Mytona to streamline its ad monitoring operations, freeing up time and resources. The publisher’s internal dashboards built on Ad Quality’s Raw Data API have made ad monitoring more efficient and data-driven, reducing manual effort and enabling quicker responses to issues.
With Ad Quality, Mytona has ensured the ads shown in Seekers Notes don’t disrupt the player experience - strengthening trust with players and protecting its brand reputation.
